Psalm 126

When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our

mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.”

The Lord has done great things for us; we are glad.

Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like streams in the Negeb!

Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy!

He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy,

bringing his sheaves with him.

all readings for the day: Psalm 126; Isaiah 43:8-15; Philippians 2:25-3:1

pray

Gracious Father, whose blessed Son Jesus Christ came down from heaven to be the true bread which gives life to the world: Evermore give us this bread, that he may live in us, and we in him; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.(source)

do

Spend 10 minutes in prayer, asking God to show you the places where you have not trusted him and have not abided in him. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you rest in God’s provision for your life, as you abide in him.
