Welcome to the final Ordinary Time Daybook devotional post for 2020! Ordinary Time is the longest season of the church calendar - a season of working and resting with Christ as he brings God's kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.

You can read here for a brief description of the liturgical season of Ordinary Time

Look: The Body of Christ, Caitlin Connolly - Source

Connolly is Mormon and, while I have some significant theological differences, this is an image I've been returning to all year and, I believe, surpasses those differences.

Artist's statement on IG: "I was reading about the breastplate of Aaron a month or so ago and felt really inspired by it. Aaron (brother of Moses) was a high priest and when he would go to the temple to make important decisions he would wear a breastplate with twelve stones representing the twelve tribes of Israel. He was instructed to have a variety of stones in the breastplate (different colors, opacities, hardnesses, mineral compositions, etc.) to represent all the tribes. This felt so beautiful to me - seeing all the tribes and people of the world in a variety of essential differences and wearing them symbolically to be able to make important decisions or have clarity of mind..."
