Til Kingdom Come by Coldplay

He who comes from above is above all. He who is of the earth belongs to the earth and speaks in an earthly way. He who comes from heaven is above all. He bears witness to what he has seen and heard, yet no one receives his testimony. Whoever receives his testimony sets his seal to this, that God is true. For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for he gives the Spirit without measure. The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
— John 3:31-46

prayer for the day:

As we joyfully await the glorious coming of the Christ, we pray...

[Spend time praying for the needs of the church, your community, and the world, and then concluded with the following prayer]

God of joy and exultation, you strengthen what is weak; you enrich the poor and give hope to those who live in fear. Look upon our needs this day.
Make us grateful for the good news of salvation and keep us faithful in your service until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives for ever and ever. Amen.

Spend a half hour in a public place - park bench, neighborhood walk, coffee shop or shopping center - to pray silently for everyone you encounter. Pray that they would have eyes to see the invisible but ever-present Emmanuel, God with us.
