The prayer of examen is a practice many folks turn to on meaningful dates like a birthday, anniversary, or turn of a calendar year. The examen is a spiritual discipline of prayer first modeled by St. Ignatius of Loyola. The prayer practice has remained a dynamic, deeply-meaningful way to develop our capacity to hear God and our own hearts as well. My hope is that this retreat will help us cultivate an awareness of God's work in our daily lives over the past year and move forward toward the coming year with hope and clarity.
