Brian and I are headed to Washington, D.C. to leave our 17-year-old son for his semester serving as a page in the U.S. House of Representatives.  We're excited for him to have this opportunity.  I'm a nervous wreck because I don't know how not to be and am pretty certain it's a requirement for all mothers when sending their child out into the world.

A few p.s. notes on recent topics:

1.  In this week's posts I mused about children as artists and artists in family.

p.s., Why We Need to Listen to the Inner Voices of Creativity: Anne at A Holy Experience is reminded by her children the first dream of every child.

p.p.s., The Creative Spark: Redeemer Arts connects the spark we notice in artistic children to an important gift the Church needs to cultivate.

2.  Remember the Olivia Jeffries artwork I purchased, My Hidden Self/At Rest?

p.s., the Snazzy Napper: I've finally figured out how to make hiding under a blanket a culturally-acceptable reality!

My mother prays a benediction over my son before he leaves home.
